The CrystalSky High-Brightness monitor is designed to be the perfect companion for DJI products. It has a brightness of 1000 cd/m² to ensure optimum viewing even in bright sunlight, which is often an issue when flying drones during daytime. As opposed to the typical tablet or smartphone, the CrystalSky provides users with a better overall experience when it comes to viewing the drone’s real-time camera feed, reviewing captured footage, and controlling app functions as it offers ample brightness while eliminating screen glare even under direct sunlight.
The monitor’s high-resolution display also offers vibrant, true-to-life colors and ultra-sharp details to enable the user to make more accurate adjustments to their compositions.
Highly Optimized Video Decoding
Drone users often encounter video jitter and transmission delays with smartphones and tablets due to certain software access limitations that can affect the device’s video decoding capabilities. Such issues can have a negative impact on the user’s ability to operate the drone or execute certain aerial imaging shots, which is why DJI’s CrystalSky monitor integrates optimized video decoding technology to ensure smooth, real-time transmission with minimal latency.
Customized Android System
The DJI CrystalSky monitor comes with a specially designed Android operating system that has been customized to meet the needs and requirements of drone flight and aerial imaging. It eliminates unnecessary Android apps and services to ensure efficient operation and performance, and offers complete resistance to viruses and other types of malicious software that can slow the system down and cause issues with functionality and operation.
The CrystalSky’s custom operating system also has an embedded DJI GO app to allow complete access to critical features and controls, such as camera control, aircraft flight parameter adjustment, file management, and more.
Dual MicroSD Cards for Extended Storage
The CrystalSky monitor has two built-in microSD card slots, allowing users to expand the device’s storage capabilities to suit their needs. Users can also edit or playback any stored footage on the microSD card directly on the monitor.
It supports video decoding of 4K H.264 at 30fps and H.265 at 60fps, which enables users to play 4K footage on the monitor without issues.
4K HDMI and Network Connectivity
Thanks to its 4K HDMI port, the CrystalSky allows users to output 4K video to display devices such as FPV goggles, laptops, and even television screens. It also has dual-band WiFi capability to enable quick and convenient connection to both WiFi networks and mobile device WiFi hotspots.
An onboard USB-A port enables compatibility with 4G dongles and USB storage, while additional micro USB and USB-C ports allow users to connect the CrystalSky monitor to dedicated remote controllers and other devices.
Secondary Battery for Prolonged Operating Time
In order to surpass the average battery life offered by most comparable mobile devices, the DJI CrystalSky makes use of a secondary external battery to further extend its operating time. The combined power of the monitor’s internal battery and two cell 4920 mAh external battery allows users to achieve up to 5 hours of battery life.
Since outside temperatures can affect the performance and endurance of a battery, the CrystalSky monitor’s external battery is fully optimized to function even in extreme temperatures. It has an internal cooling system and can comfortably handle temperatures as cold as -4°F (-20°C) or as hot as 104°F (40°C).
Compatible with Multiple DJI Aerial Systems
The CrystalSky monitor is fully compatible with a wide range of DJI aircrafts and other aerial products, including those from the Phantom 4 series, Inspire series, Phantom 3 series, Matrice series, the Mavic Pro, and even the Osmo cameras (excluding Osmo Mobile).
Since it is built specifically to be used with the DJI’s Cendence controller, the latter comes equipped with an integrated mounting bracket for the CrystalSky monitor. However, when used with the dedicated remote controllers of the Phantom line or any other quadcopter that is not compatible with the Cendence controller, users will need a separately available mounting bracket.
