The Downwelling Light Sensor (DLS 2) helps ensure accurate multispectral imagery by measuring the sunlight and ambient light conditions during every flight.
Designed to work seamlessly with MicaSense cameras (RedEdge 3, RedEdge-M, RedEdge-MX, and Altum), it records sun angle and lighting data in the image metadata. This allows processing software such as Pix4Dmapper to automatically adjust for lighting changes, like when clouds pass overhead, giving you consistent results across an entire mission.
The DLS 2 also supplies GPS data to the MicaSense sensor, keeping your imagery properly geo-tagged. If you already use another GPS source, the built-in GPS runs at very low power for backup. Easy to integrate and reliable, the DLS 2 is an essential tool for researchers, surveyors, and agricultural professionals who need accurate data regardless of changing light conditions.
