This curriculum is focused on reinforcing the fundamentals that all UAS pilots need to pilot their aircraft safely and efficiently. Our topics revolve around UAS Safety Management Strategies, UAS Set Up and Preflight Checks, and UAS Piloting Skills In High-Stress Environments.
Lessons include piloting skills, UAS flight training, safety, maintenance, and general UAS Program operations. We’ve also included information on Part 107 certification. Students will be given training on properly and effectively operating a UAV in basic mission sets.
Students will learn how to recognize and react effectively to a series of emergency procedures and scenarios, which include the following:
Lost UAS Communication Link
Return to Home (Low Battery, Smart, And Fail-safe).
Abnormal Flight Behaviors Commonly Attributed to Compass Errors
Compass and IMU Calibration.
Fly Away Emergency Procedure
Flight Area Perimeter Management
FAA Accident Reporting
Students will also be taught practical steps in conducting routine maintenance for their UAS through a regular Maintenance Schedule and Service routine. We provide extended drone service training based on the number of flights and airtime, and our maintenance tutorials also cover all critical components of your UAS such as sensors, vents, gimbal and payloads. In addition, special attention is also given to battery maintenance.
Batteries are among the most critical components of a UAS as it arguably has the greatest impact on flight time. While all modern batteries degrade over time, effective battery management and maintenance can go a long way toward ensuring you get the most out of your drone batteries. The following are the battery maintenance routines that you will learn from this course:
Basic Battery Service
Deep Cycle Battery Discharge
Slow Deep Cycle Method
Rapid Deep Cycle Method
Contact Inspection and Clean Up
This class will also provide guidance on the features and specs of the DJI Phantom, Inspire, and Mavic drones. We also provide instructions on the following aspects of these drones:
Aircraft Specs
DJI App Overview
Payloads
Control Systems
Advanced Settings
Mission Specific Settings
Autonomous Flight
Additional equipment that will be featured in this class includes:
DJI M300 RTK (Drone)
DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced (Drone)
Autel EVO II Dual 640T/R (Drone)
DJI H20T (Drone Camera Payload)
AirData UAV (Drone Maintenance Software)
Dronedeploy (Drone Mapping Software)

We purchased our M300 UAS package from DSLRPros because they had the best pricing and also offered a free day of training. Sahil conducted our training and patiently walked us through the functionalities of our drone and payloads. Since we are novices at flying drones, he also helped us learn how to fly the drone and start getting comfortable. - Shoshana G.
